The NetView DM command SEND MESSAGE allows the host to send a message to the NDMA operator, for display on the local screen. This message is referred to as an Inform Operator message.
If NDMA is running in the foreground, messages from the host are displayed on the NDMA screen in addition to NDMA's normal progress messages.
All Inform Operator messages are also logged to an ASCII text file, /opt/sna/ndm/ndm.inf.
If NDMA is running in the background, it does not display Inform Operator messages on the screen; however, the messages are still logged to the ndm.inf file.
