Data Connection Participates in Global SIP Interoperability Test Event, SIPit 17
SIPit 17 Advances Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Technology
London, UK: September 19, 2005. Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's leading independent provider of
communications protocol software, announced today its successful participation in SIPit 17, the seventeenth SIP
interoperability test event organized by the SIP Forum (www.sipforum.org)
which was held in Stockholm, Sweden over the past week.
A SIPit, Session Initiation Protocol Interoperability Test, is a heavily engineer-focused event that offers a venue for
developers of SIP-based products to meet and perform a wide variety of interop tests. The SIP software engineers are
usually on site fixing any bugs that may arise, which speeds up the testing process and resolves future interoperability
problems. The SIPits, held twice a year, are a driving force shaping SIP into a protocol that interoperates globally for
real-time Internet communication services.
Data Connection successfully tested its DC-SIP and DC-SBC solutions with a variety of SIP proxies, servers, registrars,
IP phones, softphones, gateways, and B2BUAs. Tim Hall, Data Connection's Vice President of Network Protocols, said,
"The SIPits are incredibly valuable to the product development cycle. In just a few days, we were able to prove
interoperability with our DC-SBC solution and numerous SIP platforms which better prepares our products for
real world scenarios."
