Welcome to another newsletter from Metaswitch's
Network Technologies Division.
Today we are announcing our participation and successful testing at the multi-vendor Interoperability
Showcase organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the MPLS & Ethernet World
Congress 2011 which begins on February 8 in Paris.
Along with the testing event, this newsletter provides information on our recently announced MPLS-TP
and OTN solutions as well as new customer announcements.
MPLS & Ethernet World Congress Interoperability Event in Paris begins today
Metaswitch successfully completed interoperability tests of its MPLS-TP solution at the MPLS &
Ethernet interoperability event at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress, organized by EANTC. Metaswitch's
MPLS-TP solution consists of portable, fully integrated GMPLS and IP routing control plane software
designed for system vendors of networking equipment. Metaswitch successfully demonstrated and tested the
- MPLS-TP signaling
- IP/MPLS - MPLS-TP interworking
- MPLS-TP OAM
- MPLS-TP 1:1 path protection
All of the features showcased by Metaswitch are essential for delivering on the promise of MPLS-TP,
which is to make MPLS a more reliable transport mechanism. MPLS-Transport Profile (TP), an extension
of the hugely popular MPLS technology, delivers a client-independent, carrier-grade packet transport
plane with all the features that carriers find essential in their existing transport networks, such as
sub-50ms recovery and extensive Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM).
Metaswitch Networks' MPLS-TP solution will be showcased at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2011
event in Paris starting February 8. To learn more about the test event and Metaswitch's MPLS-TP solution

Deploy MPLS-TP and OTN Today!
To meet service providers' urgent demand for the most expansive next-generation packet-optical transport
network products and services, communication equipment manufacturers must quickly and cost effectively develop
transport solutions that adhere to the latest standards, have proven multi-vendor interoperability, scale with
the demands of next generation networks and are open and customizable for diverse network requirements.

We continue to solidify our position as the one-stop shop for high performance, fault-tolerant network
technologies, where OEMs can implement the solutions they need to market quickly, cost-effectively, and with
the features they need for next-gen network devices. Some notable customer announcements are:
- Orckit-Corrigent has integrated Metaswitch's IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP control plane solution in its CM4000
series platform. Please see the related case study.
- ETRI, who has been
working with Metaswitch since 2004, tapped Metaswitch to develop MPLS-TP systems
that support their packet and optical networks, providing unified transport capabilities across their
wireless backhaul and backbone networks.
