Network Technologies Newsletter - February 2011

Welcome to another newsletter from Metaswitch's Network Technologies Division.

Today we are announcing our participation and successful testing at the multi-vendor Interoperability Showcase organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2011 which begins on February 8 in Paris.

Along with the testing event, this newsletter provides information on our recently announced MPLS-TP and OTN solutions as well as new customer announcements.

MPLS & Ethernet World Congress Interoperability Event in Paris begins today

Metaswitch successfully completed interoperability tests of its MPLS-TP solution at the MPLS & Ethernet interoperability event at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress, organized by EANTC. Metaswitch's MPLS-TP solution consists of portable, fully integrated GMPLS and IP routing control plane software designed for system vendors of networking equipment. Metaswitch successfully demonstrated and tested the following:

  • MPLS-TP signaling
  • IP/MPLS - MPLS-TP interworking
  • MPLS-TP OAM
  • MPLS-TP 1:1 path protection

All of the features showcased by Metaswitch are essential for delivering on the promise of MPLS-TP, which is to make MPLS a more reliable transport mechanism. MPLS-Transport Profile (TP), an extension of the hugely popular MPLS technology, delivers a client-independent, carrier-grade packet transport plane with all the features that carriers find essential in their existing transport networks, such as sub-50ms recovery and extensive Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM).

Metaswitch Networks' MPLS-TP solution will be showcased at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2011 event in Paris starting February 8. To learn more about the test event and Metaswitch's MPLS-TP solution stop by the Metaswitch booth (#205) or visit Deploy MPLS-TP Today.
