Network Protocol Product News Update

DC-SBC and DC-Diameter

DC-SBC is Data Connection's fully portable, software-based Session Border Controller solution that is designed for system vendors. The recent enhancements, listed below, strengthen DCL's SBC offering enabling equipment providers to develop robust SBC and IMS functions quickly and cost effectively.

  • Enhanced SIP support including IPv6, SIP over SCTP, and IPSec authentication.
  • Introduction of virtual media gateway support, local transcoding/transrating, and additional billing options.

Data Connection was an active participant in the recent IMS Forum IMS Plugfest III Interoperability test event. The DC-SBC software solution successfully operated as a P-CSCF and IBCF for testing of IMS registration and call scenarios in both inter-domain and carrier's carrier network environments.

DC-SBC is based on DCL's industry leading portable VoIP protocols which include

DC-Diameter has added support for the following IMS interfaces

  • Sh, Ph, Dh, Gq', Rq, e2, Cx, Dx, and Px.

IP Routing and MPLS

Data Connection's latest product, Configuration Safe Store (DC-CSS), greatly enhances platform fault tolerance and hot software upgrade/downgrade capabilities. DC-CSS automatically stores a system's configuration to file and replays it after a restart or failure. Advanced features such as checkpointing, rollback, and version conversion are also supported. DC-CSS is available with all of our unicast/multicast IP Routing and packet/optical MPLS products.

Data Connection also recently released improvements to its portfolio of optical control plane products, including GMPLS, O-UNI, O-NNI, and E-NNI (DDRP). These were utilized by DCL's customers to showcase the OIF's version 2.0 specifications at the 2007 ECOC show.

As always Data Connection continues to re-invest in its existing product lines and introduce new products that address the requirements of our customer base. Please stay tuned for more information on the following developments to be released in the first half of 2008.

  • The addition of lawful intercept / CALEA for DC-SBC.

Data Connection Ltd. Commercial Update

Data Connection announced fiscal annual results for 2006/07 with revenues of $101.8m and net earnings of $21.1m. This represents Data Connection's 26th straight year of increased revenues and a record 54% increase in profit.
