Metaswitch’s SIP protocol software selected for the VIS-X Intercom System by Cobham

London, UK, September 14, 2010 — Metaswitch today announced that it has been selected by Cobham Defence Communications to provide its DC-SIP protocol software for use in the Cobham designed VIS-X Intercom System which was recently selected by the US Army as its next generation vehicle intercom system (VIS). The Metaswitch DC-SIP protocol will provide VoIP for the Cobham system where reliability in extreme conditions is paramount.

VIS-X provides crew members with increased command and control of onboard and external communications assets, as well as a network connection to future IP-based digital communications, and VoIP services.
