Multicore

The N-BASE allows our customers to exploit the power of multicore processor systems.

The N-BASE provides unrivalled flexibility in placing Metaswitch network software product components across multiple cores, to efficiently exploit the processor power available on such systems.

In addition, some Metaswitch products have been further optimized to run on specific multicore processor systems. Please contact Metaswitch for details.

As an example, our DC-SBC and DC-SIP products can run on multicore systems with the various components distributed across cores in such a way as to maximize and balance multicore core processor usage, as well as minimizing inter-core component communication. This approach enables very efficient usage of multicore resources, and can exploit eight core processors with nearly linear speedup.

The following diagram illustrates the mapping of DC-SBC and DC-SIP components onto an eight-core multicore system.
